RELIGION & VALUES

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

Welcome to a brand new educational year full of exploration and learning. I hope everyone had a wonderful break and happy to be back at school with a lot of energy and enthusiasm. This year, I am teaching Religion & Values (R&V) from Foundation to Year 6, Year 3 Integrated Studies, Health & ICT, and Year 2 Health & Music.

In the beginning of this term (Week One), I had sent home for all the parents, the R&V Unit Outline i.e. the list of the topics students will study in Term 1. The Unit Outline provides you with information on what students will be learning throughout this term.

In Religion and Values, students have been working hard to develop their understanding about Islam. They are learning about their creator (Allah S.W.T), our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the books that Allah (S.W.T) had sent to us through His Prophets at different times. Moreover, throughout this year, the students will develop their understanding in the essence of faith by reading stories, watching informative videos, doing role-plays and researching and exploring the information about the religion.

In Memorisation classes, students have been learning new surahs/du’as and also revising what they have learnt in the previous years. I kindly encourage parents to support students’ memorization tasks at home.

I look forward to working with your children and helping them to achieve their full potential.

I wish all the students an enjoyable and successful 2021 at Sirius College, Shepparton Campus.
